@ Artist, CEO, Fiction Faction
Albert MENELIK TJAMAG was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and has been living in France for 40 years. He is an urban singer, songwriter, composer and musical producer. He has recorded and released several singles and five studio albums through Sony Music France, many of which have been certified gold and even double platinum. To date, he has sold two million records in France, Africa and across Francophone countries. He won the “Best New Artist” award at the French Victoires de la Musique (the French Grammys).
He has been working in the entertainment industry for the past ten years as an Artistic Director and Director for short programs and documentaries aired on TV5 Monde and Canal Plus International.
Writing has been his favorite activity for over thirty years. He enjoys captivating the audience through the stories in his songs. He wanted to perfect his skills in the field of screenwriting at the CEEA (European Conservatory of Audiovisual Writing) where he followed a course in literary direction (writing coaching and dramaturgy development for authors). He founded Fiction Faction. This production company, with ties to France and Cameroon, was created to produce African documentaries and fiction.
Producing content in Africa seems an obvious choice to him, given that he was born in Cameroon. He often spends time there and knows the players who want to help grow the country’s emerging film industry. He has traveled throughout Africa and Cameroon many times, and he is eager to share this unique African country’s diverse landscapes with the world.
His ambition is to help professionalize the entertainment industry and to encourage local drama to rise to international standards. Africa has a slew of talented, highly-motivated young people, and he would like to train them to produce quality original content.
