Sandile Mahlaba currently working for Microsoft South Africa as Public Sector Provincial Executive (KZN and MPL), driving government investment and adoption of Digital Transformation. In the time of COVID-19 lead number of Digitization program to help Government of KZN and MPL to adopt new tools to assist during hard lockdown and this is now forming part of New Normal. He is further known in the ICT Industry as champion for number of local and provincial government initiatives that have driven digital skills in government, township and rural areas. He was involved in definition on Tshepo 1Million “Thinti Million” GPG Youth Skills Development Program and other government skills initiatives.
Other Programs of interest include Maru a Jozi “City of Johannesburg Smart City Cloud”; University of Venda “Smart University Platform” currently in KZN Province he is leading the repositioning of Provincial Smart Nerve Centre and definition of eThekwini Data and AI Driven Smart City.
Sandile is the passionate Co-Founder and Patron for GoDigitalSA Foundation an NGO that is focused STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer and Maths) Education and Digital Skills development. The focus is on Township and Rural areas schools and community organisations help with readiness for 4th Industry Revolution in Africa. He hosted a slot on uKhoziFM (SABC Largest Radio Station) where he contributed in the afternoon drive show educating community on the 4 Industrial Revolution in isiZulu Language. During weekends he is involved in number of coding, robotic and AI session that involved young people in areas of South Africa working with school and government.
